Challenges when working with renewable materials: knocking on wood?

چکیده
With sustainable design as a vital strategical component for companies competing on the market today, many will need to transition use of and/or renewable materials in near future. But how can this be done, and what done bridge gap from current affairs new, more state? Looking towards industries with experience might help making first step just little bit easier. This study aims find challenges bottlenecks when working materials, order interested transitioning using or their products. The paper describes an interview five Swedish wood industry companies, differentiated size products, where authors identify several key findings both (already aiming at materials) academia (on further research, pointers teaching engineering students). Findings range organisational culture affects material selection, flexibility efficiency effects automation solutions via these have approached outsourcing parts production.

Special Issue on New Challenges in Energy Materials Research on materials and renewable energy
In this paper, an overview on the subject of materials and renewable energy, mainly from the research point of view, is carried out. Energy and materials are nowadays driving science and technology. There is a search for cleaner, cheaper and more efficient energy production, and this is obviously related to the development of new and innovative materials. As energy is a top European priority, m...
متن کاملWhen Reality Comes Knocking Norwegian Experiences with Verifiable Electronic Voting
This paper discusses the Norwegian experiences in piloting a verifiable, remote voting system in a legally binding, public election. First, we provide a highlevel description of the system used. We then go into detail about the major challenges that were encountered in the implementation and execution of the system. In particular, the generation and printing of return codes and the key manageme...
متن کاملChallenges to temperature regulation when working in hot environments.
The focus of this review is upon acute exposure to hot environments and the accompanying physiological changes. The target audience includes physiologists, physicians and occupational health and safety practitioners. Using the principles of thermodynamics, the avenues for human heat exchange are explored, leading to an evaluation of some methods used to assess thermally-stressful environments. ...
